About Parvin, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

LMFT#125467

Hi! I'm Parvin and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Los Angeles with a masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I have a down to earth, warm, and compassionate style in sessions and take the time to get to know you and your strengths. I try to create an environment where you feel safe, comfortable, and free of judgement as I understand that being vulnerable can often be the most daunting part of therapy.

I love the work I do and consider it a great privilege to be part of someone's healing and growth, to be invited into some of people's most difficult moments, and create a space where they are free to be wholly human and accepted. I'm passionate about making therapy accessible and approachable as well as providing trauma informed, strength based, culturally competent, sensitive, and socially conscious mental health care through a social justice framework. I believe the personal is political, and therefore, believe that therapy is inherently apolitical.

I recognize that seeking therapy can have stigmas attached to it among some marginalized and minority communities that might feel unheard or misunderstood by therapists who might not fully understand their values, experiences, or background. It is a commitment of mine to break through these stigmas and barriers coming from these communities myself as a Muslim and child of immigrants. I aim to bridge the gap I see in representation in the mental health field among these communities.
